Graham Smith, a valued commercial client, brought the above snapshot to us. The shot shows his son Gary capturing the ball during his first game for Hartlepool. The picture was important to graham and he asked we could improve it a little by removing the metal railing from the background. After a short discussion it was agreed that we should take the manipulation work a little further and add a few extra improvements. The Referee was removed and replaced by two extra players, a player's arm was removed from the right of the picture and an extra player placed to the rear of the line-up. Finally, the field was extended and the 'Hartlepool Stand' and supporters were blended into the background to produce a broader picture - more representative of the event. About 90% of everything 'below the waist' on the players was built by hand in our Digital Studio. Some other photographs of the day were used for reference to the stand and the players strips. |

The Cordforth Group Malcolm McLeod and Gordon Falcus formed the company in Stockton on Tees in 1979. This portrait attempts to give an impression of their engineering expertise and successes over the ensuing years. Two versions of the picture were produced at 20 x 24 inches. As the requirements of the Internet do not allow for use of great detail we have produced clickable areas on the picture which link to selected details. 13 October 2001

Gary Pallister Pat and Ian, parents of local hero Gary Pallister, approached us with the idea of having Gary's trophies etc. photographed to make a commemorative house warming present for him. The trophies are those from Gary's favourite time in football - with Manchester United. We talked a while and expanded the idea into something like the picture opposite. This idea incorporates the medals and trophies plus some pictures of a couple of highlights in Gary's career including the centre group celebrating his vital goal against Blackburn. Ian said that Gary was 'Gob smacked' when he saw the picture and just couldn't speak. It now hangs in a prominent position in the snooker room. The finished picture was made to over 40 inches in size and the original is highly detailed. Click on areas of interest to see finer details.

Endeavour Departs This departure was a fantastic spectacle. It was as though the multitude had gathered to watch Cook's own original vessel set sail for the great unknown. Most seemed rooted to the spot - unable to leave - until the fragile wooden structure, bobbing like a cork on the open sea, disappeared from sight. The idea for this picture was to make it more in keeping with the original departure scene, centuries before. The biggest visual obstacle in the original picture was the old black iron swing bridge which was right alongside and competed strongly with the delicate lines and detail in the ship. The bridge was removed and the river's totally gray appearance was improved with the help of an organic green tint. 19 May, 1997 was a totally flat, gray and misty day which was great for atmosphere but not so for image making. So later, we added some contrast, just a bit of blue sky to give some depth, and finally the seagull for a touch of near perspective. |
